The 4th of July is a celebration that takes place on ,obviously, July 4th. It is a very important celebration for us because, according to Wikipedia, “it is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain”. Pretty much, it celebrates the day the USA became an independent country. In addition, 4th of July is also called Independence Day.
During this day, we would usually celebrate it by going to a carnival or festival. While there, we would ride many attractions, have barbiques or picnics, and listen to music from a concert or watch a baseball game. At the end of all the fun, we would watch a fireworks show. There would be large fireworks, small ones, and they would all be different colors. All of the kids would hold sparklers which are shown above. We would swing them around, back and forth and have a blast! I love this celebration because it is so fun and it celebrates a very important event in the USA.
I would like to go and celebrate the holiday called Boxing Day. According to Wikipidia, “Boxing Day is a public holiday in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand and Australia, as well as many other members of the Commonwealth of Nations.” On this day, they give gifts to the poor and less fortunate people in their society. They usually celebrate it the day after Christmas. On December 26. I think it is a wonderful thing to do because you are helping people and I would love to be a part of that and celebrate this tradition.

Hey this is Sarah from New Zealand. um…New Zealand’s really cool. It’s not as crowded as your country. We have four million people. In New Zealand however, we don’t really do anything on boxing day, for many it is just a public holiday but I agree it would be cool to celebrate it as mentioned. What’s your country like? Come visit my blog…

sorry it took me so long to write back. The fourth of july is my favorite holiday. I don’t go to any carnivals, but i do go to a picnic. I see members of my family that I only get to see on thatday every year. My great aunt has a huge pool and a feild in her back yard and all of the kids stay in the pool all day and when it starts to get dark all of the kids get hauled out of the pool and we light off fireworks. I’d say about 75 people are there eating swimming and talking. its soo much fun!
